In Buckinghamshire, London a local company, Nude House, has placed an ad looking for women as programmers who are willing to work in the nude.

Chris Taylor, 63-Year Old Nude House Founder, says they are the only business in the world who’s employees don’t wear any clothes while at the office. According to Chris, it’s every nudest dream to work in an environment where you don’t have to wear anything, just clean, warm and happy place to work. Now since most of Nude House’s business is conducted online, nobody needs to know they’re naked. Now Chris has been a nudest himself for 20-years, and he claims that it hasn’t affected his business at all. In fact, he’s doing so well he’s planning to open up a new office in the near future.

Now the whole reason why he’s specifically looking for women, isn’t for the reasons your thinking of. Currently Nude House is operated by 7 nude males and 1 nude female and Chris feels it should be a little more balanced and not as male-dominated. ”Sex does not concern us and is not promoted by us – we merely provide an environment where the staff may be in offices that are all naturists,” Taylor told the Daily Telegraph.

But the biggest issue so far isn’t getting the applications, it’s identifying those job applicants who are only interested in seeing other naked people or trying to have sex with them. So far, seven women have applied for the $37,600 a year job.

Referencing Wataru Tsurumui’s bestselling book “The Perfect Place to Die – The Complete Manual of Suicide”. Aokigahara is know as a dark, thick forest located at the base of Mount Fuji, now know as a popular suicide spot.

Now no one knows exactly how many bodies go undiscovered among the Mount Fuji forest, but the ones uncovered so far have already earned this place an eerie reputation. In 2002, 78 bodies were located in Aokigahara. In 2006, another 16 suicides were reported. Some of the victims even carried copies of Tsurumui’s book “The Perfect Place to Die” with them, which makes this even creepier. The forest is covered with signs the plead for people to “please reconsider!” or “please consult the police before you decide to die!” but obviously these have little power on those determined to die at the base of Mount Fuji.

The mayor of Aokigahara blown away by the high number of suicides registered in the area says “We’ve got everything here that points to us being a death spot. Perhaps we should just promote ourselves as ‘Suicide City’ and encourage people to come here”. Locals say they can always tell those of who is going into the forest to admire its amazing beauty, and those who aren’t planning on ever coming back. They say part of the reason people decide to commit suicide in Aokigahara forest is because they want to die at the foot of the sacred Mt. Fuji and because it’s so dense and thick it makes it hard to hear any sort of sound even from a few kilometers inside the forest.

Aokigahara is considered the most haunted place in all of Japan, where the unsettled  “yurei” (ghosts) howl their suffering into the winds. The noises heard here might be considered normal in most forests, but knowing the reputation of this place, people tend to freak out at the sound of squeaky branch. Of course, there are scary stories about the trees themselves being filled with evil energy along with centuries of suicides.  Legends say there are massive iron deposits underneath the forest that cause compasses and other navigation gadgets to go haywire trapping both suicidals and innocent visitors. While Japan’s Self Defense Force, who regularly trains in Aokigahara says its military grade tools work just fine, they admit pretty much all commercially available equipment doesn’t.

As haunted as these suicide woods may be, they still have to be taken care of by regular forestry workers. Occasionally, they stumble upon dead bodies in various states of decomposition, usually hanging by trees or partly eaten by wild animals, but instead of running the other way screaming, they are brought to a nearby station. Here they are deposited in a spare room with two beds in it – one for the body and the other for someone to sleep next to it. There is a Japanese believe that if left alone, the unsettled yurei will scream all throughout the night and move into the regular sleeping quarters, so the workers play rock-paper-scissors to determine which one will sleep with the body.

The Retirement Home for Prostitutes also know as Casa Xochiquetzal (The House of the Beautiful Flowers), was established in Mexico City in the Tepito neighborhood.

This community center for sex workers, was inspired in 2007 by former prostitute, Carmen Munoz, when she saw how many old sex workers in Mexico City were sleeping on the streets. Carman was discussed at the sight and was determined to help in anyway possible. She spent many years lobbying for support from the government as well as local media. The mayor at the time, Andres Manuel Lopes Obrador, gave Carman an old run down 18th century house. Carmen spent much time transforming this house into what now houses 23 old Mexican prostitutes, with 45 current vacancies. Now there is only one stipulation when staying here (besides the obvious ones being an ex-prostitute), women have to be at least 60 years of age. Interestingly enough, women who stay at Casa Xochiquetzal, choose to continue practicing their job, even when they are required not to. All I know is this is truly the sign of a new age.

94 yr old Ramajit Raghav has claimed the title of world’s oldest father. The women we really should be giving credit to is his 54 yr old wife Shakuntala Devi who gave birth to their first baby. I wonder how old the oldest mother is?

Both Ramajit and Shakuntala are extremely happy and excited, considering baby Vikaramjeet was like a gift from god (God’s gift) and they planning on having a second child for next year. Although their ages are past the normal fertility period they feel they can pull it off.

Ramajit, Former wrestler, strongly believes that his health will keep him around for many years to come. He strives to see his soon grow up: “I will die only if a black snake bites me and that is very unlikely. Visit me after ten years and you will find me in the same appearance. My daily diet comprises three litres of milk, half a kilo of almonds and half a kilo of ghee (clarified butter).”

Ramajit, 94 years old according to the paper records, but he actually claims hes 100 years of age. Still, doctors say that, although it can’t be ruled out, having a baby at this age is a extremely unlikely.

This mystery involves a carving of what appears to be an astronaut, found on the outside of a cathedral in Spain. Cathedral Ieronimus was built in 1102 AD by Episcope de Salamanca. Could this be a carving from someone who’s been to the future? Could this be some bit of technology that existed back in 1100 AD?

In fact its non of the above. In 1992 the Cathedral Ieronimus was renovated to add some additional modern and contemporary motifs. The reason for these motifs was in the tradition of the cathedral builders and restorers, they include contemporary motifs among older ones as a way of signing their work. The builder at the time, Jeronimo Garcia, chose an astronaut as a symbol of the twentieth century. This obviously debunks any and all suspicions of someone sent from the future. SOLVED!

Guatemala Sinkhole – 2007

Apparently several homes and people were taken in by this Sinkhole on February 23, 2007. Three people are confirmed missing in Guatemala City according to officials.

So I just moved into a new apartment and of course I haven’t had the opportunity to call a cable company to have them send me a modem. So of course I’m dying here without the internet. Two days go by, I’m done with this I need access to the world!

So I went to the office this morning with the goal of acquiring internet in some fashion. I happen to be scrolling through my phone and saw I had an app for tethering; Barnacle Wifi Tether. I quickly Google’d “Barnacle Wifi Tether” to see what was needed for my computer to be tethered. Long story short, found out rooting my phone wasn’t something I wanted to do at that time. I wanted a better, faster, quicker method that didn’t involve me spending my whole day learning how to root my phone. I mean don’t get me wrong, I rooted my G1 when I had that as well as Jailbrake & unlocked my 3 iPhone’s in the past. I’m sure I could have figured out, I’ve just got better things to do. Anyways I just did a simple Google search for “tethering android no rooting”, found a blog that referred to an app I’ve never heard of “PdaNet“. Didn’t take long for me to find out how great this app is. Starting with the install process, just download, run the application, follow a few steps and install the app on your phone though Android Market. Plug the phone in through USB and click finish. Done! Now you have internet where ever your phone gets service.

Now after leaving the office I went directly home. Well having a little work left to do I needed the internet. Rather than going up to the cabana where there’s WiFi, I wanted to see what PdaNet could do for me. I plugged in my phone and ran the app. I instantly was connected to the internet and was impressed with the speed immediately. I had to check out the speed and went to speakeasy to do a speed test. Now at the time I was also running GrooveShark in the background of my phone (just to get the mood goin). And the test results still gave the phone a download speed of .97 Mbps and .56 Mbps upload. Impressed once again. I turned off GrooveShark and ran the test again. It resulted in a 3.52Mbps download and 1.07 Mbps upload. Damn! Very impressed!

Now even better, I consistently bitch about T-Mobile and how horrible the service is even though it is better than it was 5 years ago. Now a buddy that was over at my house at the time of me preforming my internet magic trick happens to have the new HTC phone that Sptint carries. I wanted to see what this bad boy could do. Supposedly Sprints 4g is amazing, and blows the competition out of the water. WRONG!

After installing PdaNet to the phone, plugged it into the computer and ran the speed test. Wow, the download time maxed out at 1.06 Mbps and upload of .60 Mbps. In my eyes, T-Mobile is killing it out here on the cellular streets. Lol. Now I don’t know what the other providers bandwith is like but would be very interested in finding out.

Moral of the story. If you have T-Mobile for a service provider, keep’em. For the money you pay you can’t get a better deal as well as speed for internet you recieve. Download PdaNet and I promise you won’t regret it.

Now working for a website development company,  the first thing that popped into my mind when I read the title for for this artical was, “I love how Google can just say, I wanna sue you. And you, oh yeah and you (haha).” Although I agree they’re in the right to sue but I always like seeing these headlines.

Google Inc. alleges in August the government put a request out for bids that would limit the government to use Microsoft Corp.’s business productivity software, which was designed for the federal government.

Google spoke on the matter and mentioned this was ”unduly restrictive” and in violation of the Competition in Contracting Act. They said in a statement that having an open process ”could save U.S. taxpayers tens of millions of dollars and result in better services.” Google presented a solution using Google Apps.

So this site has been floating around the office for a little while now. I truly believe this Arcade Fire’s Experiment is a amazing example of the powers of HTML5. I had sometime to speak with a good friend and technician about the technical aspects. As seen in the Chrome Experiments details, the new audio, video and canvas tags in HTML5 are used to fullest.

Its pretty crazy. The application uses a combination of custom size windows for video and other content, along with a custom rendered map that utilizes the Google Maps API. Also including a postcard aspect for an interactive and personal touch.

More than anything this shows us the power of HTML5 and what the internet has ahead for us.
